About the Role

The Maintenance Technician B works under the guidance of a Lead Technician, Maintenance Supervisor, or Maintenance Manager to repair and maintain diesel and non‑diesel equipment, including trucks, chassis components, and refuse bodies. This role offers the chance to work with state‑of‑the‑art vehicles, receive training on new technologies, and enjoy a stable shift in a reputable industry. Key duties involve servicing a wide range of vehicle systems such as chassis, hydraulic and electrical controls, air brakes, engines, suspension, drivetrain, steering, and HVAC components. Technicians also perform welding, fabrication, and road service to ensure equipment returns to safe operation, while utilizing diagnostic tools and completing required company training. • Repair chassis components and refuse bodies, including control, hydraulic, electrical, and brake systems • Perform engine repair and routine maintenance • Maintain heating, ventilation, and air‑conditioning (HVAC) components • Conduct line‑maintenance welding and fabrication tasks • Provide safe road service to return equipment to operation • Diagnose malfunctions using electronic diagnostic tools

What You Bring

Candidates must have at least one year of hands‑on experience with gasoline and diesel equipment or be a recent graduate of an accredited automotive program. Required qualifications include a valid driver’s license, basic understanding of work‑order standards, and the ability to inspect major truck systems; ASE certifications and a commercial driver’s license are advantageous. • Service suspension, drivetrain, and steering systems • Minimum 1 year of technician experience with gasoline and diesel equipment or recent automotive technical school graduate • Knowledge of work‑order labor time standards • Familiarity with Classes 1‑5 light/medium duty and Class 7‑8 heavy‑duty trucks; aircraft or ships experience is a plus • ASE certifications (T1‑T8) preferred • Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) preferred; valid driver’s license required • Ability to inspect suspensions, steering, engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical, hydraulics, drivetrain, and diesel emissions
