About the Role
The Pearl River Plant is hiring a Control Room Operator responsible for overseeing the central cogeneration and steam plant, chiller systems, and related equipment. The operator works independently to ensure reliable production of steam, electricity, and chilled water while adhering to environmental and safety standards. • Operate and monitor steam, electric, and chilled water generation equipment safely and efficiently. • Perform start‑up and shutdown of gas turbines, steam turbines, high‑pressure boilers, and large chillers in normal and emergency conditions. • Make independent decisions to remove equipment from service or continue operation without direct supervision. • Coordinate unit dispatch, planned and forced outages, and electrical switching with other departments. • Identify, document, and report environmental incidents promptly. • Enforce compliance with safety practices, procedures, and governmental regulations. • Work 12‑hour rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and overtime, in environments with heat, noise, high elevations, and confined spaces.

What You Bring
The position involves rotating 12‑hour shifts and requires working in challenging plant conditions such as high heat, noise, and confined spaces. A valid driver’s license and ability to interpret technical schematics are essential. • Required qualifications: high school diploma or equivalent, ≥3 years power‑plant or related experience, clear oral and written communication, ability to read blueprints and schematics, basic math skills, and a valid driver’s license. • Preferred qualifications: associate degree in engineering/technology, self‑starter attitude, familiarity with Building Management Systems (e.g., Honeywell, Siemens, Niagara).
