About the Role

The incumbent will use subject‑matter knowledge and judgment to handle official government mail, selecting methods and referencing applicable Army and Postal regulations and standard operating procedures. Typical duties include assisting with administrative matters, maintaining financial and other records, verifying statistical reports for accuracy, and investigating complaints. The role also establishes the workflow for incoming and outgoing mail within the mailroom. • Process and sort incoming and outgoing classified and unclassified mail; hand‑deliver classified mail to appropriate recipients. • Prepare documentation for receipt and dispatch of classified mail. • Maintain logs recording receipt and dispatch of classified mail. • Keep an up‑to‑date directory of names, organizations, building numbers and telephone numbers for work assignments. • Track daily monies used from metered mail and prepare a quarterly PAPA report. • Maintain the postage machine. • Follow established procedures to process paperwork.

What You Bring

• Lift up to 70 pounds as required. • High school diploma or equivalent. • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance. • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Access. • Minimum two years of verifiable data‑entry computer experience. • Prior experience distributing government mail. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Pass the Official Mail Managers course annually. • Valid state driver’s license with an acceptable driving record. • Ability to pass required background checks and drug testing. • U.S. citizenship.
