About the Role

Key responsibilities include reading blueprints and specifications to determine material quantities, identifying necessary tools and safety risks, fabricating and installing pipe and related components, performing quality tests, and hoisting loads with rigging equipment. The position does not have direct reports but will occasionally oversee helpers and laborers, providing expertise and positional authority. • Assemble, layout, install, and maintain industrial pipe systems (steam, fluid, gas). • Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical manuals. • Identify required tools and safety hazards; implement precautionary measures. • Fabricate, install, and fit pipe, valves, hangars, supports, and flanges per plans. • Perform quality testing of pipe and piping systems. • Hoist loads using slings, chains, shackles, hooks, cables, and other rigging equipment. • Oversee helpers and laborers as needed, providing expertise and positional authority.

What You Bring

ZACHRY is seeking an experienced Industrial Journeyman Pipe Fitter for maintenance work at Exxon Mobil in Beaumont, Texas. No per diem is offered. The role involves assembling, laying out, installing, and maintaining pipe systems for steam, fluid, or gas, including pipe, flanges, supports, valves, gauges, hangars, and angles. Work may occur in buildings, outdoor sites, tanks, boilers, underground excavations, and at heights up to 300 ft. Candidates must have at least four years of experience as an industrial pipe fitter or helper and be able to read and interpret prints and technical manuals. Good leadership, communication, and problem‑solving abilities are required, as is prior experience on industrial construction projects. Required qualifications emphasize a demonstrated industrial construction/maintenance background, proficiency in pipe‑fitting processes for combined‑cycle power plants, manual dexterity, strong reading comprehension, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Commitment to Zachry’s safety rules and values is essential. Preferred qualifications include being a Zachry ROF’ed or former employee, holding an NCCER certification as an industrial pipe fitter, and possessing formal technical education. • Minimum 4 years experience as an industrial pipe fitter or helper. • Demonstrated experience on industrial construction/maintenance projects. • Strong problem‑solving, manual dexterity, and reading comprehension. • Effective communication and teamwork; able to work independently. • Preferred: Zachry ROF’ed or former employee. • Preferred: NCCER certification as an industrial pipe fitter. • Preferred: Formal technical education.
