About the Role
The Lead Cleaner – 1st Shift oversees cleaning operations for a commercial building, coordinating staff schedules and ensuring that all areas meet company cleanliness standards. This role manages supplies and equipment to support efficient daily cleaning tasks. • Lead interior cleaning staff, handling waste removal, vacuuming, dusting, restroom restocking, wall washing, floor polishing, mopping, spill cleanup, mat placement, and window cleaning according to procedures. • Assign tasks, inspect completed work, issue supplies and equipment, and maintain inventory of cleaning materials. • Supervise and assist with exterior cleaning, snow removal, and basic maintenance of building exteriors, parking areas, walkways, landscaping, pools, and related structures. • Assign staff to minor maintenance and repair tasks such as painting, light replacement, window replacement, furniture moving, door repairs, landscaping, and simple plumbing fixes. • Respond promptly to spills, emergencies, and safety issues, notifying management of repairs, equipment failures, structural damage, and HVAC or ventilation problems. • Ensure safe operation and training on cleaning and snow removal equipment, tools, chemicals, and specialized solutions to protect floors, fixtures, personnel, and the environment. • Maintain and organize Safety Data Sheets, train staff on hazard communication, enforce use of safety gear, and dispose of chemicals in an environmentally compliant manner.

What You Bring
Key competencies include strong organization, effective communication, flexibility, attention to detail, thoroughness, collaboration, and a results‑oriented mindset. A high school diploma or GED is preferred, and candidates should have at least two years of related cleaning or facilities experience. Additional qualifications include basic mechanical knowledge, the ability to follow written and oral instructions, supervise while working collaboratively, and maintain reliability, thoroughness, observation, organization, flexibility, and courtesy. The position operates in a professional office environment, using standard office equipment and requiring occasional travel between properties in varied weather conditions.
