About the Role
The Journeyperson Electrician reports to the Production Supervisor and works for Silent‑Aire Limited Partnership, a Johnson Controls company. This role focuses on installing, terminating, and maintaining conduit, cable, panels, sensors, and various control devices. It also involves constructing and fabricating control panels and performing wiring checkout for interlocking systems. Key duties include interpreting blueprints, schematics, and vendor manuals to define work procedures, and ensuring all installations comply with NEC, NESC, NFPA, and UFC standards. The electrician updates daily work orders, prepares maintenance documentation, and monitors parts usage to flag material issues. They also assist in creating preventive and predictive maintenance schedules and propose plan modifications to improve system efficiency. • Read blueprints, schematics, and vendor manuals to define work steps. • Install and terminate conduit, cable, panels, sensors, and control components per code. • Build and wire control panels, including rough and finish wiring. • Install interlocking wiring and conduct wiring checkout. • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical control circuits for motors and devices. • Supervise, train, and certify apprentices and junior staff. • Complete and update daily work orders and maintenance reports. • Monitor parts usage and report material discrepancies. • Develop preventive and predictive maintenance schedules. • Suggest plan modifications to improve system efficiency.

What You Bring
The position requires a valid Journeyperson Electrician licence and proven experience with assembling, troubleshooting, and repairing machinery. Strong abilities in reading technical drawings, communicating effectively, and applying quality standards are essential. Experience supervising apprentices, performing routine electrical maintenance, and working under pressure is valued. Physical demands include lifting up to 50 lb, using hand tools, and standing for extended periods in a commercial/industrial setting. The role follows strict safety policies, including the use of protective equipment, and may involve overtime as needed.
