About the Role

The CAD Operator will design and produce plan sets for commercial, industrial, institutional, and residential land development projects while implementing and managing AutoCAD drafting and plan preparation standards. They will develop technical drawings, perform quality checks on complex drawings, conduct multifaceted calculations, and maintain the drawing database with minimal supervision. Additional duties include supervising and training CAD staff, coordinating work to maintain schedules and quality control, and applying engineering principles to suggest design changes while becoming familiar with Kimley-Horn’s practices and standards. • Design and produce plan sets for commercial, industrial, institutional, and residential land development projects. • Implement and manage AutoCAD drafting and plan preparation standards. • Develop and quality-check technical drawings, performing complex calculations as needed. • Supervise and train CAD staff while coordinating work to meet schedules and ensure quality control. • Apply engineering principles, suggest design changes, and maintain the drawing database.
