About the Role
The Assistant Chief Engineer – Critical Environments will support data‑center facility operations at JLL, working closely with the Chief Engineer to ensure smooth, reliable, and efficient performance of mission‑critical environments. This position balances technical oversight with strategic planning to keep power, cooling, and network systems operating at optimal levels. In this role you will coordinate maintenance activities, mentor engineers and technicians, and collaborate across functions to meet safety, security, and regulatory standards. You will also participate in capacity‑planning and infrastructure upgrade projects while managing emergency incidents and preparing technical reports for management and clients. • Assist in managing and coordinating data‑center facility operations and maintenance activities. • Supervise and mentor technical staff, including engineers, technicians, and contractors. • Monitor and analyze performance of power, cooling, and network infrastructure. • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules and procedures. • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure compliance with safety, security, and regulatory requirements. • Participate in capacity planning and infrastructure upgrade projects. • Respond to and manage critical incidents and emergency situations. • Prepare technical reports, documentation, and presentations for management and clients.

Certifications like CDCP or DCPRO are required, and a Professional Engineer license, project‑management expertise, and experience with sustainable data‑center practices are preferred. • Minimum 5 years of data‑center operations and management experience. • Strong knowledge of power distribution, cooling systems, and network architecture. • Familiarity with ASHRAE, TIA, Uptime Institute standards and best practices. • Excellent problem‑solving, decision‑making, and leadership skills. • Certification in CDCP, DCPRO, or equivalent; PE license preferred. • Experience with energy‑efficiency initiatives and sustainable data‑center practices.
