About the Role

• Play a lead role in developing the drainage technical capability within the Queensland Transport team. • Collaborate with Mott MacDonald’s digital team to support digital development of existing and new drainage tools. • Provide technical direction, mentorship and support to junior and mid‑level engineers to bolster drainage capability. • Contribute to proposal development and fee estimation tasks from a drainage perspective as required. • Lead the design and development of drainage solutions for our portfolio of infrastructure projects. • Review and quality‑assure drainage package delivery. • Conduct and undertake drainage designs using design software with a “hands‑on” approach. • Prepare and review technical reports, ensuring clarity and precision.

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. • RPEQ or ability to obtain RPEQ within 6 months. • Strong understanding of relevant design standards and guidelines, including Austroads Guidelines, QUDM and TMR Drainage Design Guidelines. • Strong understanding of Queensland hydrology and specific stormwater issues relevant to projects in Queensland. • Knowledge of 12d drainage software (highly preferable). • Understanding of other hydrologic and hydraulic models such as DRAINS, XP RAFTS, XP SWMM, Tuflow, HEC‑RAS, Bentley Stormwater, HY8, Culvertmaster (highly regarded). • Willingness to engage and mentor junior staff.
