About the Role
The Tower Technician II is responsible for installing, maintaining, and operating wired, wireless, fiber optic, and microwave telecommunications equipment. This role includes climbing towers, erecting various tower types, handling material off‑load and inventory, preparing sites, and assisting with tower assembly using helicopters, cranes, and gin poles. • Install, maintain, and operate wired, wireless, fiber optic, and microwave telecom equipment. • Follow MasTec Health Safety and Environmental Policies and industry standards (OSHA, TIA‑10‑48, NATE CTS, ANSI). • Climb towers and ladders; erect various tower types. • Off‑load material and manage inventory. • Prepare and clean sites; install new carriers on new builds and existing towers. • Assist in tower erection using helicopters, cranes, and gin poles; assemble monopoles and self‑support/guyed towers. • Install microwave, VHF, UHF, cellular, and FM broadcast antennas. • Install transmission lines (foam/air dielectric coaxial, hardline, elliptical waveguide). • Install foundations, grounding, conduits, and related electrical work. • Mentor less experienced technicians.

What You Bring
Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, at least two years of tower experience, and the ability to read and follow technical instructions. They must possess a strong safety mindset, be physically able to climb towers and lift 50 lb, hold a valid driver’s license, and have knowledge of industry safety standards; a PWSA certification is a plus. • High school diploma; minimum 2 years tower experience. • Ability to read and follow printed instructions. • Knowledge of safety standards; PWSA certification a plus. • Physical ability to climb towers, lift 50 lb, work up to 12 hours. • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record. • Strong safety focus, high‑quality workmanship, problem‑solving, teamwork orientation.
