About the Role

• Plan and execute diverse field surveys within project scope and budget, using efficient methods and complying with standards. • Supervise and direct survey crew members. • Coordinate with project site supervisors and client field representatives. • Prepare accurate, detailed field notes and daily activity reports promptly. • Perform in‑field calculations for construction stakeout and land surveys with moderate office support. • Prepare cut sheets for construction assignments as needed. • Review and validate collected data. • Analyze issues and develop solutions on projects. • Operate and maintain the survey vehicle per company manual. • Transport, maintain, and operate surveying instruments and equipment. • Follow corporate and client health and safety programs and SOPs. • Prepare or receive health and safety checklists; instruct crew on hazards and PPE. • Use and train others on Total Stations, Data Collectors, GNSS, and specialized survey equipment. • Perform GPS calibration and run a level loop with a digital level. • Troubleshoot common GPS/Radio issues. • Electronically transfer field data files, photos, and forms to office daily. • Mentor field survey staff to facilitate advancement.

What You Bring

Colliers Engineering & Design is looking for an experienced and motivated Senior Survey Crew Chief to lead our field operations in Buford, GA. In this role, you’ll be at the forefront of diverse surveying projects for both public and private clients—taking charge in the field, solving challenges on site, and ensuring precision every step of the way. You’ll have the opportunity to work with advanced technology, partner with a team of skilled professionals, and contribute to projects that shape communities. At Colliers, you’ll find a nationally recognized firm that champions innovation, collaboration, and career growth. • High School/GED equivalent; Associate’s degree preferred. • 7+ years of related experience, including 2+ years as Crew Chief, or graduate of accredited survey degree program. • Valid driver’s license; CST level II preferred; ability to obtain Drone License 107. • Strong English reading, writing, and communication skills. • Advanced knowledge of surveying practices, equipment, and math (geometry, trigonometry). • Ability to effectively handle surveying equipment. • Advanced organizational and prioritization skills. • Proficient with Trimble Connect, Bluebeam, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Trimble Access (3D linework, models, General Survey, Roads). • Familiarity with TSC5 and/or TSC7. • Clean driving record; MVR will be monitored. • Ability to meet pre‑employment drug screen and ongoing random drug/alcohol testing.
