About the Role
Apprentices will receive hands-on training on HVAC mechanical equipment and controls at client sites, and will participate in the Service Technical Academy to obtain factory certification. The program supplies the tools and a vehicle needed to perform the job to the highest standard. The role involves troubleshooting technical issues, addressing customer needs, and acting as a trusted advisor by providing solutions and outcomes during service visits. Apprentices must keep JCI, contractors, and customers informed of progress, meet attendance requirements for Union training, and offer recommendations, upselling opportunities, and quotes to improve facility efficiency. • Perform installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC mechanical equipment and controls on client sites. • Troubleshoot technical issues and address customer needs under mentorship. • Communicate job progress and issues to JCI, contractors, and customers. • Meet attendance requirements for Union training during the first year. • Provide recommendations, upsell solutions, and generate quotes for efficiency improvements.

What You Bring
Candidates must be members of, or willing to join, the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry. They should have at least one year of experience servicing mechanical HVAC systems, possess knowledge of HVAC hardware, facilities management, and peripheral equipment, and demonstrate strong interpersonal, leadership, and safety-first attitudes. A valid driver’s license is required, and 1-2 years of technical trade-school or college education is preferred. • Complete Service Technical Academy training to earn factory certification. • Hold or be willing to join the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry. • Minimum 1 year of experience servicing mechanical HVAC systems. • Demonstrate knowledge of mechanical HVAC, facilities management, site preparation, and peripheral equipment. • Exhibit strong interpersonal, leadership, and safety-focused skills; possess a valid driver’s license. • Preferred 1–2 years of technical trade school or college education.

Benefits
The position offers an hourly wage of $22.70, with benefits provided through a local labor union under a collective bargaining agreement.
