Assistant Project Manager - K-12 Projects (Owner's Representative)
Assist in managing K-12 and municipal construction projects from planning to closeout.
Job Highlights
About the Role
• Manage project budgets, schedules, procurement, quality, and risk across all project phases. • Interpret contracts, design standards, programming requirements, drawings, and cost estimates. • Interface directly with clients to define and document project requirements. • Prepare scopes of work, cost estimates, budgets, schedules, and risk assessments. • Conduct simple RFPs, perform bid analyses, and recommend resources to managers and clients. • Implement communication plans, facilitate meetings, and produce meeting minutes and reports. • Ensure project documentation governance and maintain data integrity. • Track project progress, report status, and develop action plans to meet objectives. • Evaluate change requests, secure client approvals, and issue change orders. • Identify project risks, develop mitigation and contingency plans, and execute risk reduction actions. • Assist with project closeout and handover of documentation to client operations. • Participate in facility assessments and update client databases as needed.

What You Bring
• Minimum 3–5 years of construction experience, preferably in public‑sector projects. • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, or a related field preferred. • Strong written and verbal communication skills with excellent organizational and analytical abilities. • Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and understand construction practices. • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; working knowledge of MS Project is a plus. • Experience with HVAC and mechanical systems, in design or construction, is preferred.
