About the Role
The HSSE Manager reports to the Senior HSSE Manager and works from a hybrid base in Birmingham, with travel to UK client sites and other JLL offices. In this role, the manager supports the Workplace Risk & Resilience Team by driving health, safety, security, and environmental compliance across fast‑moving retail destination environments. Key duties include understanding Management Services Agreements, managing risk platforms such as Vision by JLL, and providing practical guidance on root‑cause analysis and incident investigations. The manager conducts site audits, reviews audit trends, delivers effective communication plans, and promotes the S.A.F.E.R culture program while collaborating with site teams, service partners, and enforcement agencies. The HSSE Manager also oversees training by performing needs analyses, coordinating regular sessions for operational management, and tracking completion of required courses. Additional training responsibilities are assigned by the Head of HSE Risk Operations as needed. • Deliver health, safety, security, and environmental compliance across UK retail sites. • Manage risk platforms, conduct audits, and investigate incidents per ISO 14001/45001 standards. • Lead root‑cause analysis and fair investigations of serious incidents. • Develop and deliver HSSE communication plans and the S.A.F.E.R culture program. • Conduct site audits, support mitigation controls, and ensure property handover compliance. • Coordinate training needs analysis, facilitate courses, and track employee certifications. • Provide guidance on risk liability reporting and liaison with enforcement agencies.

What You Bring
Essential qualifications are a NEBOSH General Diploma or equivalent degree and IOSH membership (CertIOSH preferred), combined with experience in training delivery and strong Microsoft Office skills. Preferred attributes include an NVQ Level 6 in Occupational Health and Safety, practical property‑management knowledge, and experience with database integration and contractor management. • Hold NEBOSH General Diploma or equivalent and IOSH membership. • Demonstrate strong reporting, numerical, and communication skills. • Prefer NVQ Level 6 in Occupational Health and Safety and property‑management experience.
