Senior Engineer - Costout eMobility

About the Role

The Senior Engineer Cost Out drives cost‑out strategies for eMobility components, meeting idea‑bank, active project and realized cost‑out goals while satisfying market, timeline, and technical requirements. The role focuses on electromechanical components and leverages relevant industry standards. This position leads eMobility cost‑out, VAVE, and resourcing projects in partnership with suppliers, SCM, SDE, manufacturing, quality, sales and marketing teams, providing technical direction and mentorship across electronics, power electronics and electromechanical initiatives. The engineer also helps define the product roadmap and executes plans to achieve strategic objectives. The engineer develops and implements global supply‑chain cost‑out and resiliency strategies, utilizing digital and physical prototyping, test labs and external ecosystems to build a pipeline of direct‑material productivity projects. Governance and process controls are regularly reviewed to ensure alignment with worldwide standards. • Lead eMobility cost‑out, VAVE, and resourcing projects with cross‑functional teams and suppliers. • Provide technical direction and mentor team members on electronics, power electronics, and electromechanical cost‑out initiatives. • Develop and execute strategies to achieve global supply‑chain cost‑out and resiliency goals. • Leverage digital/physical prototyping, test labs and external ecosystems to accelerate cost‑out projects and improve cost performance. • Apply deep knowledge of Eaton products, supply base and SCM processes to engage the right stakeholders. • Use manufacturing process expertise to improve designs and act as technical lead for internal and external customers. • Apply should‑costing, one‑part analysis, TCO analysis, and commodity knowledge to achieve cost‑out targets. • Execute strategic resourcing, negotiation and part rationalization to meet measurable cost‑out outcomes.

What You Bring

• Conduct supplier negotiations and lead cost‑out/VAVE projects using strong data‑analysis skills. • Demonstrate global leadership effectiveness and drive cross‑functional project teams. • Expertise in electromechanical subsystems, Agile VA/Pro launch phase‑gate processes, and execution of large‑scale ideas. • Lead global projects, communicate effectively with stakeholders, and exhibit strong interpersonal skills. • Hold a B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering with 6–7 years of cost‑out, strategy and eMobility experience. • DfSS, CI, DfR or PMP certification is a plus. • Skilled in cost‑out/VAVE of electromechanical components, commodity management, strategic value analysis, and supply‑chain practices; passionate about excellence, agility, learning and results.
