About the Role

The Manager, reporting to the Sr. Director of Compliance Audit Services, oversees auditor training and implements audit procedures to ensure independent and objective Environmental, Health & Safety and transportation compliance reviews of WM operations. • Supervise audit staff and communicate standard audit practices. • Conduct compliance audits with staff to assess program implementation and efficiency. • Review internal and external audit reports, corrective actions and closures for accuracy and regulatory compliance. • Provide training, coaching and performance evaluations for audit personnel. • Develop audit schedules and assign staff to environmental, safety and DOT audit assignments. • Organize resources and continuously improve audit tools and training materials. • Directly supervise up to six full‑time employees and indirectly oversee additional staff. • Perform occasional physical tasks such as handling objects under 30 lb and exposure to minor occupational hazards.

What You Bring

• Hold a bachelor’s degree in environmental studies, public health, engineering, biology or a related science. • Possess at least seven years of relevant experience, preferably with Certified Professional Auditor certification. • Demonstrated experience managing employees and conducting environmental or health‑and‑safety compliance audits. • Knowledge of federal EPA, state environmental, OSHA and DOT regulations. • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and quick to learn new systems. • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills; able to collaborate with diverse teams. • Travel up to 60 % of the time, including air travel requiring a REAL ID or TSA‑approved alternative.

Benefits

The position offers a base salary range of $108,600 to $165,485, depending on experience, education and location, and includes a competitive total compensation package with medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short‑term disability, 401(k) match, stock purchase plan, paid vacation, holidays and personal days.
