About the Role

The Research Engineer II will support the Naval Medical Research Unit – San Antonio (NAMRU‑SA) and its partner institutions by addressing advanced biomedical engineering challenges. The role involves resolving novel systems, developing new techniques, coordinating design phases, integrating and testing systems, and creating fluid‑flow models for air and liquid environments. • Resolve novel engineering systems and devise innovative techniques • Support biomedical engineering functions for medical research • Coordinate design phases with contractors, engineers, and project managers • Direct integration, fabrication, and functional testing to meet specifications • Set up, operate, and calibrate laboratory equipment per research protocols • Conduct complex experiments and collect scientific data • Maintain a clean, operational laboratory environment • Manage inventory of research supplies and order as needed • Compile and analyze data using scientific or statistical methods • Write and edit content for publications and presentations • Report research status and handle administrative paperwork • Securely maintain data and laboratory notebooks • Develop computational models of air and liquid fluid flow

What You Bring

Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree with two years of related experience or a master’s degree with demonstrable experience, and possess strong analytical, laboratory, and technical writing skills.
