About the Role

The engineer is responsible for operating HVAC systems, performing safety inspections, conducting maintenance, and ensuring reliable building climate control while working a rotating shift schedule. • Operate and monitor building automation and HVAC control systems. • Respond to HVAC service requests via phone or internet. • Adjust heating, ventilation, and air‑conditioning settings to regulate temperature and airflow. • Detect, record, and report equipment faults or abnormal conditions. • Run boilers, heat‑water pumps, chillers, cooling towers, and associated piping. • Perform water‑quality testing and update system logs. • Conduct daily safety inspections of boilers, vessels, chillers, and related equipment. • Log operational data and report deficiencies to supervisors. • Perform preventive maintenance according to schedule and handle alarm responses. • Work physically demanding tasks, lifting 50‑70 lb and accessing confined or elevated spaces. • Maintain a 24/7/365 shift schedule, including weekends and flexible hours.

What You Bring

KBR is seeking a Stationary Engineer with a First or Second Grade license in Maryland. Both full‑time and part‑time positions are available, preferably for candidates within 50 miles of Aberdeen Proving Grounds, MD. The role supports maintenance, services, and operation of HVAC equipment in commercial‑size and laboratory facilities. Candidates must hold a Maryland First or Second Grade Stationary Engineer license, possess at least five years of HVAC experience, and have a valid driver’s license. Additional preferred skills include familiarity with building automation systems, strong customer service, and OSHA safety training. • Hold a valid Maryland First or Second Grade Stationary Engineer license and a high school diploma. • Bring at least five years of HVAC operations experience. • Possess a clean driver’s license meeting company standards. • Experience with Metasys building automation system (preferred). • Demonstrate strong customer service and adherence to safety protocols. • Completed 30‑hour OSHA General Industry or Construction safety training (preferred).
