About the Role

The selected engineer will handle site development engineering and project management across diverse land‑development projects, completing civil design, permitting, and using tools such as hydrology models, storm‑drainage programs, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D. They will also engage in research, coordination, staff management, cost estimating, bid‑package preparation, and technical specification development while receiving mentorship and exposure to plan production, financials, and client interactions. • Perform site civil design and permitting for land‑development projects. • Utilize hydrology modeling, storm‑drainage software, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D. • Conduct research, coordinate with stakeholders, and manage project schedules. • Lead staff, estimate costs, prepare bid packages, and write technical specifications.

Kimley-Horn's Reno, Nevada office is seeking a Civil Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with more than two years of experience to join the Land Development team. This role is on‑site and not remote. • Minimum 2 years experience at a civil engineering design firm. • B.S. or M.S. in Civil Engineering from an ABET‑accredited program. • Engineer‑In‑Training (EIT) or Engineering Intern certification, or ability to obtain within 12 months. • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D. • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. • Self‑initiated, detail‑oriented, able to meet deadlines independently and as part of a team.
