About the Role
The Environmental Project Manager plans and directs all onsite activities at client locations related to the storage, transportation and disposal of hazardous and non‑hazardous waste. The role manages onsite personnel, serves as the liaison between clients and vendors, and ensures compliance with federal, state and local regulations while maintaining safety and environmental standards. Key duties include coordinating logistics for waste transportation, consulting with clients to design cost‑saving proposals, performing inspections to meet regulatory requirements, administering financial obligations such as invoicing and contracts, and promoting a safety‑first culture through training and compliance monitoring. The manager may also perform occasional labor‑intensive tasks such as drum collection and bulking. • Coordinate hazardous and non‑hazardous waste transportation logistics, including profiling, scheduling, manifesting and loading. • Consult with clients to design and implement cost‑saving proposals. • Perform inspections and reporting to ensure compliance with client, federal, state and local regulations. • Administer client and vendor financial obligations such as invoicing, reporting and contract management. • Train and certify site personnel on safety, environmental, OSHA, RCRA and DOT requirements. • Occasionally conduct labor‑intensive tasks like drum collection and bulking.

What You Bring
Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in environmental sciences, accounting, business or a related field, or a high school diploma with four years of relevant experience, plus at least two additional years of work experience. Required certifications include HAZWOPER, OSHA 24‑hour, and experience with RCRA and DOT regulations. Pre‑employment drug or alcohol testing may be required by certain customers. Preferred qualifications include budgeting and profit‑and‑loss experience, project‑management skills, strong customer service, vendor management, supervisory and team‑building abilities, and an entrepreneurial mindset that drives innovative solutions. Additional valued traits are strategic thinking, effective communication, decisive decision‑making, strong leadership, business acumen and a high sense of urgency.
