About the Role

In this role you will develop and document unit and functional test procedures, ensure test documentation supports repeatability and compliance, and provide usability feedback to development teams. You will act as the primary liaison between users, stakeholders, and sponsors, investigating and resolving incidents while building trusted relationships through clear communication. The role also involves eliciting and documenting user requirements, creating user guides and training materials, promoting application features to drive adoption, and ensuring systems meet performance, availability, and security SLAs. Compliance with the Sponsor Risk Management Framework and Authorization & Accreditation processes is required. • Develop and document unit and functional test procedures for software system testing and validation. • Ensure test documentation supports repeatability, standards compliance, and operational readiness. • Provide usability and functionality feedback to development teams. • Serve as primary point of contact between users, stakeholders, and sponsors to resolve issues. • Investigate, document, track, and resolve incidents, inquiries, and service requests. • Build trusted relationships through timely, clear, and collaborative communication. • Elicit and document user requirements, including new features, workflows, and enhancements. • Develop or contribute to user guides, training materials, and outreach sessions. • Promote application features and capabilities to support user adoption. • Ensure systems and enhancements meet performance, availability, and security SLAs. • Maintain compliance with Risk Management Framework (RMF) and Authorization & Accreditation (A&A) processes.

What You Bring

The Software QA Specialist / Application Tester role is a contingent position within the KBR/NSS Intel division, supporting critical missions for DoD, IC, and NASA. The position is based on contract award and requires an active TS/SCI++ clearance. Candidates must have at least four years of professional experience in software quality assurance, functional testing, or application support, including testing single‑page applications and UI testing. Proficiency with JIRA for Agile processes and a track record of serving as a primary point of contact for application users are essential. Desired experience includes supporting cyber‑operations mission applications, familiarity with related user and training requirements, and the ability to facilitate outreach or brown‑bag sessions on technical tools.
