About the Role
The Commission Manager is responsible for end‑to‑end service delivery, ensuring client objectives are met through effective cost management on commissions typically ranging from £5m to £10m. The role reports to a Senior Cost Manager or Associate Director and is measured against quality, timeliness, client relationships, margin targets and knowledge retention. • Assist feasibility studies and create procurement reports. • Produce and present final cost plans using The Hive digital tools. • Manage tendering and procurement, including pre‑qualification, tender lists, preliminaries, analysis, reports and contractual documents via The Hive and eTender Platform. • Act as contract administrator, handling post‑contract cost variances and change control processes. • Perform cost checks and valuations on larger projects to ensure timely accuracy. • Generate monthly post‑contract cost reports through the Cost Control App and present them to clients. • Contribute to value engineering and negotiate final accounts. • Interface with clients, Project Managers and consultants throughout all project stages. • Lead cost management teams when required, ensuring delivery of all accountabilities. • Utilise bespoke digital tools including Benchmarking App, CostX, Market Rates App, eTender Platform and Cost Control App. • Implement the Embodied Carbon Calculator to produce carbon‑footprint reports. • Support execution of the NewLeaf strategy and manage internal fees, job costing and resourcing. • Identify and develop new business opportunities with existing clients, maintaining the marketing database. • Build and maintain a professional network of peers and potential clients. • Assist in preparing bid documentation and suggest improvements to cost‑management procedures and templates. • Participate in external groups, networking events and CPD activities. • Capture key learning into the internal database and propose process improvements. • Mentor and support junior staff members. • Work autonomously and take initiative to meet tight deadlines.
