Geotechnical Internship (Level 1)
Assist with geotechnical field and lab tasks, including testing, surveys, and drilling.
Job Highlights
About the Role
• Assist with lab testing and draft boring logs and location diagrams. • Schedule drill rigs for geotechnical projects and obtain utility clearances for subsurface explorations. • Support the subsurface exploration program, prepare drilling instructions, and perform boring and test pit layouts using conventional surveying and GPS. • Classify soil samples and conduct hand auger sampling to gather subsurface information. • Observe foundation and ground improvement installations. • Provide reliable transportation for job sites (mileage reimbursed).

What You Bring
• Pursue a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geology, or a related field. • Demonstrate interest in structural support concepts and creative problem‑solving. • Ability to repeatedly lift 40–70 lb and occasionally lift up to 85 lb to waist height.
