About the Role
The Health and Safety Supervisor will lead ES&H efforts on an active midtown Manhattan construction site, overseeing compliance with federal, state, and local regulations while driving safety program development, hazard mitigation, and incident investigations. • Develop, implement, and maintain safety and health programs, systems, and procedures. • Monitor work areas to identify and prevent hazards and occupational diseases. • Investigate accidents, injuries, and hazard complaints and recommend corrective actions. • Conduct employee training and emergency preparedness initiatives. • Provide regulatory interpretation and technical advice to ensure ES&H compliance. • Lead a team of ES&H specialists and support personnel on the project site. • Prepare safety reports and recommend improvements to processes and equipment. • Maintain expert knowledge of federal, state, and local government agency requirements.

What You Bring
Candidates must hold a BA/BS in Occupational Safety or related field (or equivalent experience) with at least six years of construction safety experience, possess a valid CHST credential, and meet additional certifications such as OSHA 30, HazWoper, and confined‑space entry. The role requires physical stamina to navigate active construction zones, climb ladders, and handle materials up to 50 pounds, as well as the ability to work in varied weather, noise levels, and proximity to heavy equipment while wearing required personal protective equipment. This position does not provide U.S. work‑authorization sponsorship, requires a pre‑employment substance‑abuse test, operates on a routine night shift, and is strictly on‑site with no remote or hybrid work options. • Hold a BA/BS in Occupational Safety (or related) with 6+ years construction safety experience, or equivalent education/experience. • Possess a valid CHST certification and OSHA 30‑hour certification. • Complete 40‑hour HazWoper training and have confined‑space entry certification or experience. • Demonstrated experience with NYC civil utility construction, local municipal regulations, excavation, and heavy civil construction. • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams) and experienced in safety reporting and report creation.
