The Lead Engineer takes technical ownership of all design aspects for high‑voltage (4 kV‑230 kV) and EHV (above 230 kV) substation projects, developing general arrangements, plan and elevation drawings, grounding and cable plans, and specifications for major equipment. Responsibilities include preparing design calculations, bus fault stress analysis, construction documentation, and providing technical support for procurement and construction. The role coordinates with physical designers, transmission, distribution, civil, geotechnical engineers, and surveyors, while ensuring high‑quality output and continuous improvement.
Additional duties involve identifying key client interests, communicating them to the project team, serving as a technical specialist for system protection and communications, removing impediments to the engineering team, advising management on ROI, and attending all client technical review meetings. The position thrives in a fast‑paced environment handling multiple projects simultaneously.
Compensation for this position ranges from $115,000 to $130,000 per year.
