What you would be doing

- Preparation, evaluation, and package engineering of Scope of Services for Plant Control Systems, Telecommunications and Instrumentation Packages for mining / processing plants.
- Mentors and assists junior instrumentation and control system engineers
- Location/arrangement of DCS and other control cabinets within plant
- Selection / specification of instrumentation in accordance with equipment datasheets
- Design / modify panel layout, schematic wiring and termination diagrams for industrial control systems
- Review supplier documentation to ensure project specifications are satisfied
- Proposal preparation and cost estimates.
- Material handling and process plant instrumentation design for small/medium/large size projects.
- Participate in design and hazard reviews
- Developing I&C schedules (cable, instrument, I/O, etc.)
- Developing changeover plans for brownfield control system upgrades
- Preparation of study reports, scopes of work, equipment specifications, functional specification and datasheets.

- PLC and Remote IO control system design
- A degree in engineering, demonstrated experience and CPEng status and current RPEQ
- Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10 – 13 years of relevant experience.
- Demonstrated design and engineering experience in mining, processing plant or oil and gas industries
- Experience with functional safety system and TUV certification is highly regarded.
- Excellent attitude towards safety and a demonstrated ability to comply with the safety requirements
- Candidates responding to this posting must currently possess the eligibility to work in the Australia without sponsorship
- Have current knowledge of industry or regulatory standards and study criteria pertinent to instrumentation and control systems engineering ensuring compliance of design work with all relevant engineering standards and internal procedures
- Ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external clients
- Smart Instrumentation experience is favourable
- Demonstrated experience in Control System/Instrumentation Engineering
