The Operations Maintenance Worker IV earns $18.00 per hour and assists the operations department with cleaning and upkeep of district fleet and welding facilities, reservoirs, pipelines, right‑of‑way (ROW), and floodways.
Key duties include vegetation maintenance, painting, and cleaning of pipelines, reservoirs, floodways, ROW, and facilities; operating equipment such as skid steers, uni‑loaders, agricultural tractors, weed eaters, and mowers; building and painting fences, using chainsaws, and handling utility trailers; performing light welding, grinding, and routine equipment repairs; supervising day laborers, working in confined spaces or on bodies of water, and occasionally working extra hours like weekends or evenings; and attending job‑related training such as tractor operation, confined‑space entry, and water safety while continuously monitoring improvement efforts.
Required experience consists of prior use of weed eaters or standard mowers, ability to pull and back up utility trailers, and competency in operating a tractor, grinding, cutting, welding, or performing light fleet mechanical repairs. Desired experience includes using a zero‑turn mower and painting.
The position requires a valid Texas driver’s license. Desired education and certifications include a high school diploma or GED, a Texas CDL Class A or B without restriction, and endorsements for tanker (N), hazmat (H) with tanker, and doubles/triples (T).
Physical demands involve occasional standing, walking, sitting, reaching, balancing, stooping, and regular lifting or moving of up to 80 pounds, as well as required vision capabilities. The work environment includes extended periods in the field exposed to weather, occasional climate‑uncontrolled buildings, confined spaces, underground areas, waterways, and heights.
