The Role

Overview

Design and support of HVDC terrestrial/submarine cable systems and converter stations.

Tasks

-Preparation of conceptual level engineering documents -Provides estimates for the engineering budget and schedule -Working with Project Engineer and Project Manager on developing design schedules and budgets for electrical engineering work activities -Supporting HVDC cable routing and converter station feasibility studies -Providing technical support input during the project permitting phase -Developing construction and equipment specifications -Preparation of one line and three-line diagrams, AC/DC schematics, BOMs, wire schedule, interconnection diagrams -Engineering support for HVDC terrestrial and submarine cable systems and converter stations -Participate in development of technical proposals -Attending client meetings -Perform quality control reviews of work developed by others -Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise, technical expertise for studies and design efforts, and presents complex technical solutions to clients -Supporting projects during construction, start-up, and commissioning as needed -Assist in the promotion of AECOM's capabilities while maintaining our existing client base and -Supporting clients with utility interface and technical coordination -Reviewing engineering work performed by peers

What You Bring

-Grounding Analysis and Design -Able to lead engineering tasks with strong communication skills (written and verbal) -Experience on full EPC, Design/Build projects from start to finish -Field experience including witnessing testing of HVDC equipment and systems -PSCAD model development and analysis -Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering and 6 years of relevant HVAC experience and HVDC experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education. -Masters degree in Electrical Engineering is preferred -Experience must include electrical power engineering coupled with some leadership experience. -Experience working with remote team -Plant Startup and Commissioning Field Experience -Owner’s Engineering experience -Power systems analysis software experience (ASPEN OneLiner, ETAP, SKM Power Tools, AcSELerator, EnerVista, etc.) -Familiarity with industry codes and standards (NEC, NESC, IEEE, etc.) -Power system studies (load flow, short circuit, protective coordination, arc flash analysis) -Experience working with FACTS -10+ years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education -Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Electrical Engineering
