Description

The Heavy Equipment/Diesel Mechanic will operate a service truck, travel to project sites in the Houston area, and perform maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting on heavy construction equipment such as dozers, excavators, and track hoes. Responsibilities include welding, operating a crane for repairs, completing service documentation, conducting preventative maintenance, and maintaining a safe and clean work environment.

• Operate service truck and travel to project sites to perform equipment maintenance and repairs.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and engine systems on heavy construction equipment.
• Weld components and operate a crane to facilitate repair tasks.
• Complete service paperwork and documentation accurately and promptly.
• Conduct preventative maintenance inspections to ensure equipment reliability.
• Maintain a clean and safe work vehicle and job site environment.
• Read and interpret technical specifications, manuals, and diagrams.
• Communicate effectively with vendors, supervisors, and equipment operators.
• Lift, push, pull, or move up to 70 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Apply basic algebra, geometry, and construction math for calculations.
• Interpret technical instructions and solve problems using data collection and analysis.
• Work outdoors in varied weather conditions and navigate minor site obstacles.

Requirements

• Use hand and power tools, diagnostic devices, and safety equipment proficiently.
• Demonstrate high safety consciousness and adherence to equipment safety protocols.
• Possess five or more years of field experience as a heavy equipment/diesel mechanic.
• Own personal hand tools and exhibit manual dexterity for precise work.
• Communicate fluently in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Hold a valid driver’s license for occasional travel.
