Description

• Champion process improvement, automation, and system implementation to drive operational excellence.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting team through clear goals, training, and professional development.
• Partner with the CFO and senior leadership on financial strategy, budgeting, and risk management.
• Provide financial and accounting expertise during acquisitions, due diligence, and deal structuring.
• Oversee property-level accounting processes, including income recognition and expense allocations.
• Collaborate with Asset Management and Investment teams to deliver accurate, timely property performance reporting.
• Lead and manage the accounting function, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and property-level accounting.
• Work closely with Asset Management, Operations, and Acquisitions teams to support business initiatives and strategic growth.
• Review acquisition and disposition entries, purchase price allocations, and gain/loss recognition.
• Implement and monitor robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and streamline processes.
• Ensure full compliance with all regulatory and tax reporting requirements.
• Maintain and enhance accounting policies, procedures, and documentation standards.
• Coordinate and manage annual audits, tax filings, and related reporting processes.
• Oversee preparation and accuracy of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of real estate investment accounting, property-level performance reporting, and transactional accounting.
• Proficiency in accounting and real estate software (Yardi preferred).
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Prior experience in real estate investment or real estate private equity is required.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) strongly preferred.
• Advanced Excel and financial analysis capabilities.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Strategic mindset with the ability to balance hands-on execution and long-term vision.
• Proven leadership and team management abilities.
• In-depth knowledge of GAAP, real estate financial reporting standards, and internal control frameworks.
• 12+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 5+ years in a senior leadership role.
