Maintenance Technician

Description

• Repair and maintain restroom and breakroom plumbing fixtures.
• Perform general labor such as carrying, stacking, and organizing materials.
• Conduct minor carpentry repairs, installations, and fixture adjustments.
• Execute snow removal duties during winter months.
• Maintain or replace door hardware.
• Repair or replace venetian blinds.
• Paint mechanical and electrical rooms as needed.
• Touch‑up paint building common areas.
• Touch‑up paint tenant spaces when authorized.
• Clean and paint shut‑down mechanical equipment per lockout/tagout procedures.
• Perform miscellaneous handyman tasks with hand tools.
• Clean roof drains, air vents, registers, and radiators.
• Replace lamps and clean light fixtures.
• Replace ballasts in accordance with lockout/tagout policies.
• Replace ceiling tiles.
• Replace floor tiles.
• Replace air filters.
• Replace fire extinguishers.
• Hang framed objects using a cordless drill (no power tools required).
• Follow client and internal ABM processes and policies.
• Travel weekly and bi‑weekly to other campus locations using a company vehicle.
• Adjust work schedule as needed to support operations.

Requirements

We are seeking a dynamic maintenance technician to support a higher‑education campus with multiple locations. The role includes weekly and bi‑weekly travel to two additional sites, with a company vehicle provided. Responsibilities include general maintenance, snow removal, carpentry, housekeeping, and reporting safety hazards.

Flexibility and a willingness to complete all assigned tasks are essential, as is adherence to ABM and client policies.

• Hold a current, valid driver’s license.
• Possess working knowledge of OSHA safety standards and regulations.
• Demonstrate excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Be proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Ability to stand up to 10 hours per day.
• Ability to climb ladders.
• Experience in an office facilities environment (desired).
• Previous custodial experience (desired).

Benefits

The hourly rate for this position ranges from $20.00 to $28.00, with the exact amount depending on the applicant’s education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and market data. Successful candidates may also be eligible to participate in a company incentive or bonus program.
