The Assistant Chief Engineer – Critical Environments will partner with the Chief Engineer to oversee data‑center facility operations, manage technical teams, and implement strategies that enhance performance, reliability, and efficiency of mission‑critical infrastructure.
- Assist in the management and coordination of data center facility operations and maintenance activities.
- Supervise and mentor technical staff, including engineers, technicians, and contractors.
- Monitor and analyze critical systems performance, including power, cooling, and network infrastructure.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules and procedures.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure compliance with safety, security, and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in capacity planning and infrastructure upgrade projects.
- Respond to and manage critical incidents and emergency situations.
- Prepare technical reports, documentation, and presentations for management and clients.

JLL seeks individuals with at least five years of data‑center operations experience, strong knowledge of power, cooling, and network systems, and familiarity with industry standards such as ASHRAE, TIA, and the Uptime Institute. Leadership, problem‑solving, and proficiency with facility‑management software are essential, and certifications like CDCP or DCPRO are required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in data center operations and management.
- Strong knowledge of data center infrastructure, including power distribution, cooling systems, and network architecture.
- Familiarity with industry standards and best practices (e.g., ASHRAE, TIA, Uptime Institute).
- Excellent problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.
- Strong leadership and team‑management abilities.
- Proficiency in facility management software and building automation systems.
- Valid certification in at least one relevant area (e.g., CDCP, DCPRO, or equivalent).
- Professional Engineer (PE) license (preferred).
- Experience with energy‑efficiency initiatives and sustainable data center practices (preferred).
- Knowledge of project management methodologies (preferred).
- Multi‑site data center management experience (preferred).
