Policy Planner
Napier City Council
Provides and manages Napier’s local infrastructure, facilities and services across civic and community functions.
Develop and deliver planning strategies, policies, and plans for Napier's growth and evolution, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
Maintain effective working relationships with internal teams, iwi, external agencies, and community stakeholders to support planning projects.
Conduct research and analysis to inform policy options and draft reports, briefing papers, and recommendations for Council decision-making.
Support project teams on city growth and long-term strategy initiatives by coordinating inputs, preparing engagement materials, tracking progress, and providing practical planning advice.

Tertiary qualification in planning, environmental management, urban studies, geography, public policy, or a related discipline, and have a solid understanding of New Zealand’s planning frameworks, including the Resource Management Act (RMA) and Local Government Act (LGA).
