Assist and learn rotating across departments for heavy equipment maintenance and repairs.

Tasks
-AM Shops review (how we conduct business in our shops (how to order parts, supplies) -Perform/assist with safety inspections; learn DOT and State Inspection requirements -Assist lead mechanic with cleaning, teardown, inspection, and parts ordering -Perform/assist with repairs to maintain truck uptime, e.g. tires, brakes, air suspension, component changes, etc. -Perform/assist lead mechanic with field repairs, e.g. undercarriage, G.E.T, teardown & assembly, etc. -Learn best practices for safe & efficient maintenance welding repairs -Learn best practices for safe & efficient heavy equipment maintenance while working with lead PM technicians -Learn best practices for safe & efficient repair & rebuild of paving equipment during winter -Learn best practices for safe & efficient medium & heavy truck repair and preventative maintenance -Learn best practices for safe & efficient heavy equipment repair in a field operation -Assist lead welder with cutting, torching, fabricating, etc. -o Assist with re-assembly of paver wear item -Perform/assist with fluid & filter changes -Sample fluids and analyze results

What You Bring
-Strong computer skills and ability to learn new software. Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel is preferred -Valid driver’s license required -Must have ability to work independently. -Ability to work safely & wear required PPE, including safety helmet, safety glasses, safety gloves safety shoes, reflective clothing, & other specific PPE as required -Ability to give and receive written or oral instructions. -AMU/CATU Courses (Hydraulic/Electrical, Undercarriage, etc.) -High school diploma, GED, or Trade School preferred. -OEM Training for Electronic Tooling programs (CAT SIS, Volvo Prosis, Cummins Insite, Paccar Davie, etc.) -Must be able to work early mornings, evenings, and weekends. -Willingness to learn and adapt to change -Ability to keep all sensitive material confidential. -Possess a can-do attitude -Gain basic knowledge & experience with stick and wire welding & torch cutting
