The role involves manufacturing large power transformers to fulfill customer and production plans. Assembly, inspection, and testing are conducted using Lean methodology, adhering to specifications and the correct tools. The work must meet the exacting standards expected by the customer.
Responsibility for on‑time product delivery includes building the transformer according to the manufacturing plan. Quality responsibility ensures the build meets standard operating instructions, and the role may involve training others. Cost efficiency is achieved by manufacturing within defined processes.
Continuous improvement actions are implemented as instructed to boost productivity without compromising quality, delivery, or safety, and employees are encouraged to submit improvement ideas through the Employee Ideas Scheme. Maintenance duties follow APS practices, covering routine cleaning of workstations, jigs, and fixtures, with any issues reported to the Production Support Engineer.
Employees must comply with Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) requirements, following safe operating procedures to protect themselves and their colleagues. Adherence to GE Life Saving Rules is mandatory.
The position requires a solid general education and significant experience in light mechanical assembly; electrical or electronic qualifications are advantageous. Desired traits include teamwork, manual‑handling expertise, ability to follow written procedures, and proficiency in interpreting diagrams, schematics, and touchscreen IT interfaces.
