Develop detailed remediation reports and recommendations for compliance and security improvements across AltaLink corporate networks based on changing threats
Support technical teams and third-party vendors to resolve incidents as quickly and effectively as possible
Communicate status of response, resolution and final root cause analysis to the appropriate stakeholders
Conduct threat intelligence analysis, management, and distribution utilizing a variety of intelligence sources
Participates in internal and external audits and assessments which involve AltaLink Security Operations teams
Participate in and provide feedback to the technical review board as part of AltaLink change control process
Generate vulnerability reports and provide analysis and recommendations
Respond to critical computer security incidents and conduct advanced computer and network forensic investigation functions relating to various forms of electronic fraud, identity theft, computer intrusion, theft of information, denial of service, multi-national organized electronic criminal groups, as well as financial fraud investigations
Contribute to security assessments of corporate, operations and energy management systems, services, and programs
Perform basic system administration duties
Conduct Risk Assessment for new 3rd party vendors, services and solutions
Participate as a core team member on multiple programs within Corporate Security
Develops and manages effective working relationships with other departments, groups and personnel with whom work must be coordinated or interfaced

Proven track record of good attendance and job performance
Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interface with team members and customers to promote positive customer outcomes
A student who has completed two or more years of study and is currently enrolled in a Co-op program at a recognized University
Proven ability/experience in the above noted responsibilities
Ability to research and analyze security threats and exploitation techniques
Understanding of emergency response and incident management processes
Creative and analytical thinker who is driven and capable of working in a fast-paced environment;
Familiarity with current and emerging information security technologies and development methodologies (e.g., firewalls, intrusion detection systems, virtual private networking, virus protection technologies, LAN/WAN design, and/or general internetworking technologies) as well as broad IP Network and security engineering concepts
A current student in the Bachelor of Computer Science program or equivalent
Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
Attention to detail
Familiarity with UNIX, Linux, Microsoft operating systems, security tools, and related security software
