Senior Structural Bridge Engineer – Project Manager

Description

The Structures practice delivers bridge and infrastructure solutions, and the position involves managing structural planning, analysis, preliminary and final design documentation, preparing proposals, and participating in technical, cost, and scheduling decisions. The engineer will maintain client relationships, drive business development, and oversee team members in design, calculations, load ratings, cost estimates, and bid packages.

• Manage and implement structural planning, analysis, and design documentation for bridge projects.
• Prepare proposals/contracts and contribute to technical approach, cost, and schedule decisions.
• Maintain client relationships, visibility, and drive business development.
• Direct and mentor team members in design plans, calculations, load ratings, cost estimates, and bid packages.
• Oversee project and task management to meet scope, schedule, cost, and quality requirements.
• Review plans, specifications, reports, and analyses for compliance with project goals.
• Complete transportation studies, design reports, final design documents, and contract plans per AASHTO and DOT standards.
• Independently develop bridge designs and detailing for steel, concrete, and prestressed concrete, including seismic analysis.

Requirements

• Apply extensive knowledge of structural engineering concepts, practices, and procedures.
• Deliver effective verbal presentations and technical writing.
• Work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
• Utilize critical thinking, attention to detail, and quality focus.
• Demonstrate strong project management capabilities and leadership mentoring.
• Operate structural engineering software such as AASHTOWare, LARSA 4D, MDX, SP Column, MerlinDASH, Mathcad; proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Bentley OpenBridge, MicroStation is a plus.
• Possess 8–11 years of experience in bridge design, construction phasing, and complex projects.
• Hold a Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering (structural emphasis preferred); Master’s degree preferred.
• Maintain a Professional Engineer (PE) license.
