Tasks
-Engineering Standards Specification: Reviewing and overseeing the preparation of models and drawings and working together with other Engineers and Designers to develop detailed drawings, quantities and various supporting documents including technical memos, specifications, contract documents etc. completing assignments with minimal guidance -Standards: Adhering to GHD BIM and Quality standards and procedures and implementing compliance on project level -Improvement/Innovation: Identify shortcomings in existing business practices, then suggest and implement improvements while developing and delivering projects or a work stream within the organization's change management program. Involves working with guidance from senior colleagues. -Knowledge Management: Develop policies and processes, create best practices, set up case studies, and deliver internal knowledge-sharing sessions to capture and share knowledge among colleagues on project/program outcomes and innovative practices in a particular area of expertise and to support the practice. -Professional Supervision: Being able to lead a small team of engineers and/or designers to drive design phases and implement design standards on civil infrastructure projects of high complexity.Mentoring and supervising junior and developing EIT’s and Technicians, fostering a team approach -Needs Assessment: Uncover emerging issues or needs, identifying potential causes, barriers, and key stakeholders, as well as related issues. -Participating, when required, in advancement of GHD Standard Civil Details including the promotion of changes and updates to tools and methods, assisting with training development and lessons learned exercises. -Coordination: Coordinating the preparation of civil deliverables, drawings and details from conception to final design in a 3D modelling environment such as Civil 3D, according to established standards and procedures for a wide variety of projects. Coordination of all aspects of the civil design including being responsible for the design following the budget and schedule. -Working in various procurement environments such as Design-Bid-Build and Design-Build projects -Document and Reports Review: Overseeing the preparation of reports, and contract documents for review agencies, clients, and the public -Culture of Innovation: Drive a culture of innovation by creating multistakeholder solutions that boost creativity, innovation, and collaboration across business units, such as idea generation platforms, jam sessions, and hackathons. -Engineering Standards Specification: Analyze information, draft engineering standards and specifications, and evaluate the effectiveness of those standards within own engineering discipline to ensure work of the required quality is delivered and to inform engineering work in the organization and/or of its suppliers, contractors, and consultants. -Engineering Solutions Design: Leading and developing civil engineering design for track grading, roadway, and multi-modal corridors including median LRT/BRT as well as site development and associated linear infrastructure

What You Bring
-Detailed understanding of local Agency (or equivalent) Codes and standards -Post-secondary degree in Civil Engineering -Managerial Experience: Experience of supervising and directing people and other resources to achieve specific end results within limited timeframes (13 months to 3 years) -Competency/expertise in BIM Collaboration tools e.g. (ProjectWise, BIM 360, Autodesk Construction Cloud) (Preferred but not required). -Experience working in an integrated 3D design environment -Proficiency with design software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or Microstation -Proven record of successful delivery of Transit Infrastructure projects -General Experience: 15+ years’ experience in design and engineering of transportation infrastructure projects -Ontario P.Eng designation required (or eligible) (Mandatory)
