The Maintenance Worker installs, maintains, and repairs the facility’s building structures and systems, including plumbing, electrical wiring and fixtures, machinery, equipment, electronics, vehicles, and grounds. The role also involves keeping the physical structure of the facility safe and secure for operations.
Key duties include inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing machines and equipment; installing and repairing electrical apparatus such as wiring and electronic components; performing preventative maintenance according to the established plan; and providing supervision and tracking of inmates or residents assigned to the Maintenance Department.
Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, at least two years of general maintenance or construction experience (or equivalent technical/trade coursework), a valid driver’s license, and a minimum age of 18. Knowledge of building construction and operation of building systems is preferred.
