What you would be doing

  • Ensure that all phases of Engineering and all prerequisites (permitting, construction drawings, Bill of Materials (BOMs), Purchase Orders (POs), etc.) are tracked, monitored, and controlled ensuring completion
  • Monitor project schedules mitigating and/or justifications of schedule deviations
  • Provide engineering guidance on the construction of outside plant fiber optics system
  • Coordinate with other internal and external stakeholders ensuring compliance with project requirements
  • Ensure engineering quality from initiation to closeout and completion
  • Coordinate with the Client to verify the quantity of work completed and document any deviation from work completed versus values in the BOM
  • Act as an advisor to the engineering team regarding projects, tasks, and operations
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving, and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas. Ensure all aspects of his/her role are executed safely. Always obey safety guidelines
  • Provide notification when prerequisites are completed, and work can be assigned and transitioned to the next phase of execution
  • Manage subcontracted engineering vendor
  • Review construction plans and permits for contractual requirements and constructability
  • Keep current on engineering trends and developments to recommend changes in program or design methods
  • Lead weekly status meetings with Client

  • Had a good understanding of MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
  • Able to work within a PMO structure organization
  • You have a track record of completing work with a high level of quality
  • You have a knack for figuring out hard problems and enjoy a hands-on approach to your work
  • Have 10 years of engineering experience with at least two years of management experience in utility systems or roadway design
  • Ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications
  • Possess strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Possess strong multi-tasking and organizational skills
  • Work with ESRI, ArcGIS, and 3GIS, experience is a plus
  • Have a valid driver’s license, attend preconstruction meetings in person, and make field visits
  • Able to manage subcontractors
  • Have a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
  • Able to review, understand and contribute to project execution plans and schedules
