The Associate role provides exceptional design and project management services, leading internal design teams and serving in client‑facing project management. The position manages projects from concept to completion, with a focus on data‑center projects while also handling other commercial MEP designs.
- Lead MEP design teams for greenfield and retrofit data center projects
- Define HVAC technical requirements and coordinate with plumbing, electrical, and fire protection teams
- Develop and refine office design standards for Data Center and Mission Critical sectors
- Collaborate across disciplines to create integrated technical solutions
- Coordinate with Energy Modeling teams to optimize energy efficiency and carbon reduction while maintaining 7x24 reliability
- Provide technical guidance to internal and third‑party commissioning teams
- Represent JB&B at industry events, conferences, and seminars to build brand recognition
- Travel to client and project sites across the U.S.

- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience
- Minimum 10 years of facility design and construction experience
- Design, construction, and commissioning experience of data center HVAC, standby generation, and fuel oil systems
- Proficiency with Revit
- Professional Engineering (PE) license (preferred)
- Experience with chillers, cooling towers, AHUs, heat pumps, and generator designs
- Experience with energy modeling and building controls systems
- Knowledge of ASHRAE 90.1, 90.4 and TC 9.9 publications
- Experience with process water flushing and treatment
