Set up machine tools such as drills, lathes, grinders, milling machines, etc.
Cut and shape blocks to specified dimensions
Maintain records, report relevant information, and prepare necessary documentation
Design jigs and templates as work aids in part fabrication
Communicate and coordinate with other departments and customers
Read and interpret blueprints, design schematics, and CAD drawings
Measure and mark metal stock for machining
Visualize and compute metal shapes and tolerances
Fit and assemble tools and die parts
Fill, grind, and shim metals to ensure a smooth finish
