Contribute new designs, or techniques that are of material significance in the solution of important problems.
Determine collectively with multiple design disciplines, the technical approach and design criteria for projects.
Serve as quality control reviewer.
Lead and mentor junior architectural staff.
Perform independent investigations, studies, and architectural analysis.
Develop design details, plans and specifications.
Ensure conformance with standards, established architectural practices, applicable codes, and technical adequacy of design and construction.
Use computer software as a design tool for solving complex architectural problems.
Review shop drawings and Requests for Information (RFIs).
Contribute to and or lead responses to RFP’s and RFQ’s, including fees, schedule, staffing and project approach.

Excellent design, technical detailing, and strong presentation skills, both verbal and visual, are essential.
Professional Licensure and Society Memberships
Professional Degree in Architecture (B. Arch or M. Arch preferred)
Ability to travel within the US and work at a project office within the NYC area.
Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite are required. Proficiency with OpenBuildings strongly valued.
Minimum of 15 years of experience in the transportation sector (design and project management of state-of-good-repair programs, ADA accessibility projects or rail transportation projects).
Remain current in codes and technologies appropriate to the architecture discipline including IBC, NFPA, etc.
Transit Architecture design experience including station and related facilities is required. Experience in higher education, federal, justice, health + well-being, science + tech, and/or cities market sectors is a plus.
Registered Licensed Architect in the State of New York is required. LEED Accreditation or similar is a plus.
Experience in the Design-Build delivery method in close proximity to active rail operations is required.
