Building Enclosure Project Specialist (New Grads Welcome)

The Building Enclosure Project Specialist will assist project team members to ensure the success of projects during various phases of design and construction. The work will also include new construction enclosure consulting and commissioning during design and construction phases and the evaluation, investigation, and repairs for existing buildings. This position will travel frequently within and outside the local area, depending on workloads and project locations; estimate is 25-50%.

• Perform construction administration services and site visits
• Prepare professionally written field reports
• Perform/assist with field performance testing and water leakage testing of roofing and waterproofing systems, windows, curtain walls, and other building elements
• Perform quality assurance observations and monitor the construction process to assure that roofing projects stay in compliance with approved construction drawings, specifications, and best-practice or warranty stipulated installation procedures
• Assist with/perform forensic investigations and documentation of existing conditions including wall claddings, windows, curtain wall systems, roofs, skylights, plaza waterproofing and below grade elements, etc.

• Comfortable in construction settings and able to follow safety protocols; on-the-job training provided for building enclosure systems
• Desire to learn building construction, roofing, and other building enclosure systems
• Ability to travel frequently within and outside the local area, depending on workloads and project locations, estimate 25-50% travel time
• Experience in Building Enclosure consulting/ building construction industry
• 4+ years’ experience in Building Enclosure consulting/ building construction industry in lieu of degree
• Consistent and professional interaction and communication
• Valid driver’s license and reliable driving record is required
• Ability to perform office tasks and physical labor tasks
• Learn to prepare sketches and details using Bluebeam and hand-drawn techniques
• Ability to observe work from ladders, boom-lifts, scaffolds, swing stages, roofs, etc.
• Excellent organizational and project management skills
• Ability to efficiently work on multiple projects, simultaneously, in a team environment
• Registered Roof Observer (RRO) or Registered Roof Consultant (RRC)
• Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines
• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or other related degrees OR;
• Learn to perform building enclosure reviews of architectural drawings, shop drawings and submittals
