Manufacturing Procurement Engineer

Technical liaison ensuring component manufacturability and quality between engineering and suppliers.
Work closely with Quality to lead root cause investigations, implement corrective actions, and support continuous improvement at supplier sites.
Act as the technical link between engineering teams and suppliers to ensure component manufacturability and compliance with design and quality requirements.
Participate in cross-functional reviews relating to design changes, risk mitigation, and supply chain readiness.
Conduct regular supplier visits across the UK (and occasionally Europe) to support technical issue resolution, process improvements, and performance management.
Play a key part in supplier development, product quality, and on-time delivery.
Apply APQP, PFMEA, and PPAP frameworks to define production processes and uphold product quality from the outset.

Strong understanding of manufacturing processes such as machining, fabrication, PCBAs, coatings, welding, NDT, or composites.
Experience in manufacturing engineering, supply chain, or technical procurement within high-integrity sectors (e.g. defence, aerospace, marine, or advanced manufacturing).
Comfortable working with ERP/MRP systems and engineering documentation.
Skilled in supplier relationship management and effective at influencing stakeholders at all levels.
