The Stationary Equipment Technician repairs and maintains recycling equipment, compact heavy equipment, and light trucks, focusing on safe and productive operations. Work includes routine maintenance and repair of hydraulic systems, industrial electrical systems, 480V balers, conveyors, and compactors.
Key duties involve diagnosing mechanical problems using charts, diagnostic software, and manuals; performing repairs and preventive maintenance; replacing parts such as pistons, gears, valves, bearings, belts, motors, and hydraulic cylinders; reading vehicle condition reports and repair orders; completing paperwork and consumables reports; and servicing rolling stock like forklifts, skid steers, trailers, and front loaders while following all safety policies.
Preferred qualifications include PLC troubleshooting ability, strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, prior manufacturing and conveyor experience, a valid driver’s license, and a mechanical or trade school certificate. Minimum requirements are at least one year of related equipment maintenance experience or a trade school certification.
