The Applications Specialist recommends and applies basic water treatment solutions while communicating program results to USP Account Managers, Territory Managers, and Commercial Leadership. The role demands professional, high-quality customer and technical service, including basic water testing, measurement, documentation, and data sharing.
Successful candidates must understand USP treatment programs, chemical feed equipment, field data collection, troubleshooting, and safe chemical delivery management. They must work safely and effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Candidates with advanced laboratory skills are preferred, as they will organize and communicate program specifics such as system surveys, customer reports, forecasting, and performance management. Industry knowledge of water and wastewater treatment, strong written and verbal communication, teamwork, technical and analytical abilities, and proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Teams) are essential.
A high school diploma or GED is required; a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related technical field is preferred. A minimum of five years of customer-facing water or wastewater treatment experience is required.
The position involves frequent travel, long hours, and varied schedules, with physical activities that may include walking, climbing, lifting up to 60 pounds, and operating hazardous chemicals. Specific vision abilities and the consistent use of hands for equipment and computer work are necessary.
Work is performed both indoors and outdoors in environments such as cooling towers, water plants, and process areas, often under high noise levels and extreme heat. Personal protective equipment—including eye, hearing, respiratory protection, gloves, steel-toe shoes, and hard hats—is required for chemical deliveries and site work.
USP Technologies is an equal-opportunity employer offering a compensation range of $65,000-$75,000 USD per year plus bonus/incentive pay, along with benefits such as paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, and a 401(k).
