Description

The Engineer I role in the Mountain West Civil Group focuses on transportation design and plan production for multimodal corridors, roadways, highway/interchanges and multi‑use trail projects for state and municipal clients. Early career work emphasizes the use of transportation‑modeling software, while longer‑term opportunities may lead to project‑management responsibilities.

• Use CAD software (Civil3D and/or MicroStation/ORD) as the primary transportation design modeler and to produce engineering plans.
• Assist with data collection, technical analyses, and preparation of project documentation.
• Interact with clients and present design elements at coordination meetings.
• Apply applicable Federal, State, and municipal standards.
• Maintain an organized electronic or hard‑copy design journal for each project.
• Follow FHU’s Total Quality Management program for all tasks and deliverables.

Requirements

Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in civil or transportation engineering from an accredited institution and have 0–3 years of transportation‑engineering experience. Preferred qualifications include internship experience, FE/EI certification, and proficiency with Civil3D, MicroStation/ORD, and Microsoft Office applications.

• Bachelor’s degree in civil/transportation engineering from an accredited four‑year college or university.
• 0–3 years of transportation engineering experience; internship experience is a plus.
• FE/EI certification preferred.
• Proficiency with Civil3D and/or MicroStation/ORD preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint preferred.

Benefits

The position offers an annual salary range of $72,000–$85,000, with the final offer based on skills, qualifications, and experience. Applications are due by February 9 2025.
