IT Technical Support

Description

• Follow up with internal employees to ensure their IT systems are fully functional after troubleshooting
• Maintain hardware inventory database for all IT related hardware
• Support a company with a long history of trusted engineering and professional services
• Provide backup coverage for any IT tasks as assigned or needed
• Identify and review new technologies and alternative systems to enhance productivity, security, reliability, or cost
• Contribute directly to improving workplace productivity and system reliability
• Prioritize & manage multiple open issues at once
• Set up and provide assistance as needed for presentations and meetings requiring use of various A/V equipment
• Oversee the configuration of new hardware installations for both new and existing clients
• Research, diagnose, troubleshoot, and identify solutions to resolve technical issues
• Keep job knowledge updated by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications,
• Decommission electronics for recycling while adhering to proper electronic recycling practices
• Talk clients through a series of actions either via phone, video conference, email, or remote access until their
• Ask employees targeted questions to quickly understand the root cause of their problem
• Take ownership of end-user support requests and see problems through to resolution
• Participate in 7/24 on-call support rotation to provide escalation support for network problems and customer
• Recommend improvements to existing software and develop new methods to drive efficiencies
• Provide technical support for all end-user hardware and software needs

Requirements

• A+, Network+, or similar certifications highly preferred
• Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality
• Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and customer service skills
• Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience required
• Strong knowledge of computer hardware and workstation configuration
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Minimum 3 years of experience in technical support or network maintenance preferred
• Basic understanding of network architecture and capabilities
