Industrial Mechanical Technician

Description

• Perform repairs and preventive maintenance on pumps, conveyors, piping, heat exchangers, power transmissions, and other rotating equipment.
• Follow established maintenance standards and complete tasks ranging from supervised to independent work.
• Develop and update preventive‑maintenance procedures and provide feedback on work orders.
• Utilize hand and power tools (grinders, saws, impact wrenches, drill presses, hydraulic pullers) and rigging equipment daily.
• Conduct welding and cutting operations using torches as required.
• Operate heavy industrial equipment such as forklifts, scissor lifts, basket trucks, and skid loaders.
• Work from elevated areas, including ladders, platforms, and scaffolding, using appropriate fall‑protection gear.
• Maintain a documented personal tool inventory and ensure tools are kept in good condition.
• Complete administrative duties such as time accounting and accurate work‑order documentation.
• Communicate effectively with team members to support short‑ and long‑range planning and maintain positive customer and employee relations.
• Provide flexibility to work all shifts, including holidays and weekends, as needed.

Requirements

Technicians operate in a safety‑first culture, complying with PJHA processes, observation protocols, and all company and site safety guidelines. Work is performed in diverse settings, from elevated platforms and scaffolding to confined mechanical areas, requiring consistent use of fall‑protection equipment and adherence to environmental controls.

Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED; an Associate’s degree in Industrial Maintenance is preferred. A minimum of five years’ industrial maintenance experience, or four years of related education, is desired. Candidates should possess strong mechanical aptitude, mathematics skills, and the ability to read blueprints.

• Meet physical demands such as lifting up to 50 lb, sustained standing, climbing stairs or ladders, and wearing a respirator when required.

The position offers an hourly wage between $32.31 and $36.80, Monday‑Thursday from 6 am to 4:30 pm, with weekly pay on Fridays.
